San Clemente’s Cyber Café offers computer education for all ages, providing courses and workshops from beginning basics to digital photography. All of our instructors and workshop leaders are volunteers and each class has both an instructor and a coach to assist students in our small nine-computer station classroom.Click here for a current list of classes.
Our students learn to use computers and communications technologies to accomplish a variety of tasks. They learn to touch up photos and send and receive them in email, to desktop publish anything from a newsletter to an autobiography, manage personal and financial records, communicate with others across the country and the world, and serve their communities.
In its short history since July, 2002, the Cyber Café has assisted over 2500 local citizens in their computer education. Thirty volunteers serve as instructor, coach, lab, and staff volunteers. For communication purposes, an occasional newsletter is produced and workshops are held on a random basis. Funding has been provided by the Foundation, the City of San Clemente, and student fees. City plans include a new Senior Center with the Cyber Café located on the premises of the future site.
